Before you apply

A short-term, contract-based 1099 engagement run through our contributor platform, Visora. Contributors record simulated day-to-day professional workflows, using anonymized data, with our recording software. If you’re accepted after applying, we send a project offer along with a Slack invite to continue contributing.
Pay is set per project. Your rate and expected hours are confirmed in the project offer, and specialized or expert workflows are typically offered at a higher hourly rate.
Short-term, with a minimum block of hours to complete on a tight timeline — often around 10 hours per week, depending on the campaign. Engagements can be extended if the quality of your work is outstanding.
  • Use the device the task requires — a mobile device, or a Windows or Mac computer. Each job listing states which
  • Provide any required specialized software yourself
  • Use our recording software to capture and submit sessions — VidLog on the desktop, or the Visora mobile app for egocentric jobs
  • Record simulated, day-to-day work — sessions must be continuous and unedited
  • Avoid capturing confidential, proprietary, or sensitive data
  • Idle or low-activity sessions are not paid

Getting started

Finish the to-do list on your Home page: complete your profile, verify your identity, and set up payments and taxes. Then browse jobs and apply.
You need to complete your personal information in your profile first. Also check the job’s requirements against your device specs — you may not be eligible if your setup doesn’t meet them.
Depending on the job, your next step is to pass any required assessments, complete required documents, or accept an offer that turns into a contract. From there you read the Guidelines and start recording.
Yes. You can be cleared for and submit to multiple jobs at once. Keep an eye on each job’s deadlines and quotas so you don’t over-commit.
No. Once you’re qualified for a job type, you can apply to other jobs of that type without redoing the qualification.

Account and profile

This usually means an account suspension for duplicate uploads. A first offense results in a 48-hour suspension and a warning email. A repeat offense results in a permanent ban.
Yes. Click the profile icon at the top right of your Home page, then go to Manage account → Profile. Click the three dots next to your email to remove it, then use Add email address to add a new one.
Not currently. Your account name doesn’t affect taxes or payouts — those are based on your W-8BEN form, so make sure the form matches your official records.
Identity verification is handled by a third-party provider, Veriff, and Visora has no control over the process or its error codes. Consult Veriff’s support docs and contact them directly if issues persist. The same applies to which ID types are accepted — Veriff decides this at its sole discretion, and accepted types are listed during verification.
No. Everyone must record and submit under their own separate, verified, and approved account. Submitting recordings under a false name will lead to a ban.
No. Every contributor must sign up and get verified individually before submitting recordings. If you’re interested in working with us as a vendor or bringing a team, reach out to a Visora project lead to discuss it.
Yes, as long as the project allows both platforms.
Yes. Click Settings in the bottom left sidebar and click the three dots ”…” to delete your personal information. When you delete your account, any unpaid earnings will be paid out to your account. You will have 30 days to add your relevant tax documentation and payment information before you are permanently removed from Visora.

Once you delete your account, you will not be permitted to create a new one.

Payments, taxes, and subsidies

Approved work becomes earnings, paid out in USD to your connected Stripe or Payoneer account. Payouts go out automatically in batches once earnings are finalized. Your payment and tax setup must be complete and your payout account active.
Payouts are processed automatically every Wednesday at 12:00 PM PST. You receive earnings when either your pending balance reaches $20, or you have an unpaid transaction 7 or more days old. No action is needed on your part. Thresholds are subject to change.
Complete both steps on your dashboard: connect your payout account, and upload your tax form. Your provider — Stripe or Payoneer — is determined automatically by the country on your profile.
Visora can’t provide individual tax guidance. Consult a tax professional or chartered accountant for your specific situation.
You likely haven’t completed any applications yet. Once you’ve applied to a project, the upload should work.
Go to visora.com → Tasks → Setup payment method → Tax forms. Answer “Are you a U.S. person for tax purposes?” — select No if you are outside the US. You’ll then see the option to download a blank W-8BEN and re-upload the completed form.
Pay varies by project. In practice there’s a base rate plus a project-specific hourly bonus, depending on factors like turnaround speed and experience level. Payouts may also vary by region.
Bonuses have strict deadlines. Milestones don’t. Occasionally emails may set deadlines for specific jobs with urgent data needs.
Campaign payouts are usually released within 7 days after the campaign ends, with no milestone requirement or 30-day minimum. If a campaign is paused, you’re still paid for all approved hours.

Applications and jobs

Only before submitting — swap the file before you hit submit. Once an application is submitted it can’t be modified, so double-check everything first.
Due to high volume and changing project needs, Visora can’t respond to individual inquiries about pending applications, deadline extensions, or new milestone assignments. You’ll be notified if you’re onboarded or assigned new work.
Example videos are at the bottom of all egocentric job descriptions, and good-versus-bad examples appear in the egocentric job application flow itself.
If it’s still in draft, you can withdraw it. Once submitted, an admin can send it back for revision so you can resubmit.
Availability of work depends on fluctuating customer needs. New milestones are auto-assigned and submissions approved as demand arises.

Recording requirements

Yes. We only accept recordings made on Mac or Windows — we do not allow VMs (virtual machines).
Because that job requires a specific recording tool. Screen-recording jobs use the VidLog desktop app and egocentric jobs use the mobile app — for those, browser upload is intentionally disabled. With VidLog you record on the desktop app and your recording comes back to Visora as a draft to finish — see Recording with VidLog. For egocentric jobs see Guidelines.
For computer recordings, 1080p (1920×1080) or higher with a 16:9 aspect ratio — whether you record in VidLog or with another tool. Mobile and egocentric jobs have their own format requirements, so follow the job brief for those.
No. Submissions containing overlays or monitors will not be accepted.
Yes. Once a recording has successfully uploaded to the cloud, you can delete the local copy to free up disk space.
The campaign has likely closed. Select the normal project from the dropdown instead of the campaign. Jobs may also be paused whenever more footage isn’t currently needed.

VidLog app

Download it from the Downloads page in Visora’s left navigation, or from the VidLog link in the Home page footer. Mac requires Apple Silicon (M1 or later) — Intel Macs are not supported. Windows x64 is supported. On Windows the download is a zip — extract it and run the .exe. On first launch, click Open browser to sign in and make sure the link opens in the same browser and Google account you used for Visora. If it opens elsewhere, copy the link into the correct browser or profile. Then scroll to the bottom of the terms and EULA to accept.
VidLog checks for a new version on launch and auto-updates. Submissions made with an outdated version will be auto-rejected, so keep the app updated by relaunching it periodically.
You need to select a job from the dropdown menu first. If the dropdown is empty, your application is most likely still pending review — approved jobs appear there automatically once you’re onboarded.
Unlike tools that record total system audio, VidLog targets a specific game process. If it picks the wrong process, game audio won’t come through — make sure you select the correct game process in VidLog before recording.
The full screen — anything displayed is captured. Don’t switch tabs or open other applications while recording. Stick to the game or software the task requires to avoid rejection.
Leave the encoder on GPU (hardware) for best performance. Switch to CPU (software) if you experience issues. The Settings page also links to the recording FAQ.
This is most likely a client-side issue. Restart the app, or try uploading via the browser to see if the issue reproduces.
Use the Bug Report feature in VidLog, at the bottom left of the app. Log files are attached automatically — always add screenshots and any other relevant files to help diagnose the issue faster.

Submissions and reviews

If it’s marked “revision requested,” yes — fix the noted issues and resubmit. If it’s a flat rejection, that submission is final, but you can usually submit a new one for the job if it still has open quota. Always read the feedback first. See Approval process.
Submissions are usually reviewed within 24 to 48 hours, but can take up to 7 days.
Rejections always come with a rejection reason in the form of an error message. Following the general upload guidelines will keep your submissions from being rejected.
You need to be approved for the job first — check My Applications — and then be invited to a project. Once approved, claim a specific task from the project’s task list. Only claimed tasks appear in VidLog.
