VidLog is Visora’s desktop app for screen recordings — gaming, computer-use, and similar captures. When a job (or an assessment) requires screen recording, you record it in VidLog rather than uploading a file in your browser. Manual web upload is turned off for these tasks, so VidLog is the only way to capture the video.
You still finish the submission on Visora. VidLog captures and uploads the video; your recording then shows up on Visora as a draft submission where you add anything else the job needs and hit Submit. VidLog is the camera — the Visora web app is still where you turn the work in. The full round-trip is below.

When you need VidLog

You’ll be pointed to VidLog whenever a task is screen-recording based — you’ll see a “Record in VidLog” card (or “Submissions via VidLog Only”) in place of the usual upload box, on both:
  • Assessments for a screen-recording job type, and
  • Submissions for a screen-recording job.
Other recording types don’t use VidLog: webcam / pre-recorded clips upload in the browser, and egocentric (point-of-view) jobs use the mobile app. See Guidelines for the full breakdown.

Install VidLog

1

Download it

Get VidLog from the Downloads page in the sidebar, or click Open or Download VidLog on any screen-recording job, assessment, or submission screen. The download matches your computer automatically.

2

Install and open it

Install VidLog on MacInstall VidLog on WindowsRun the installer, then open VidLog.
macOS needs Apple Silicon (M1 or later). Intel-based Macs are not supported. Windows is supported on 64-bit (x64).
3

Sign in with your Visora account

Sign in to VidLog with the same account you use on Visora. This is what links your recordings back to your jobs and submissions. Once connected, the Visora web app shows “VidLog desktop app connected.”

Record and submit: the round-trip

1

Open VidLog from the task

On the job, assessment, or submission screen, click Open or Download VidLog. If VidLog is installed it launches and jumps to the right place; if it isn’t, you’re sent to the download.
2

Record in VidLog

Follow the brief and record your screen in VidLog. VidLog also collects the technical details the job needs automatically (recording logs and metadata) — you don’t attach those by hand.
3

Let it upload

When you finish, VidLog uploads the recording. Screen recordings take a few minutes to process after uploading.
4

Finish on Visora

Your recording appears on Visora as a draft submission. Open it from My Submissions (it shows up as “Your VidLog Recording” with a preview), attach any remaining components, and click Submit.
Even when the task needs nothing but the screen recording, your VidLog recording still lands on Visora as a draft — open it and hit Submit to turn it in. If the task needs extra files, add them to the draft first.

Already recorded but don’t see it? Recordings uploaded from VidLog land under My Submissions as drafts — open the draft to finish and submit it. If it’s still processing, give it a few minutes.

Troubleshooting VidLog

  • The “Open” button just downloads instead. That means VidLog isn’t detected as installed. Install it (or reopen it once), then try again.
  • My recording isn’t showing on Visora. Confirm VidLog shows as connected (you’re signed in with your Visora account), and wait a few minutes for processing. Check My Submissions for a new draft.
  • macOS won’t run it. VidLog requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later); Intel Macs aren’t supported.
